Irish Fiddle Workshop

Alexis MacIsaac

In this workshop, Alexis MacIsaac will teach the basics of fiddle ornamentation for traditional tunes including how to play Irish rolls, cuts, trebles, double stops, drones, and slides. This workshop is intended for players who can already play a few tunes on the fiddle.

Wendy Moore

Wendy Moore

A manager at the Ottawa Folklore Centre, Wendy is also a nutrition consultant, triathlete, and professional touring musician. She performs over 100 shows a year nationally and internationally with her group, The Celtic Rathskallions and duo, Celticity, with Arthur McGregor.

Wendy has a B. Music and B. Education from Queen’s University and is a published writer. Her children’s storybooks Maddie’s Moon and A Tune For Maddie, and her music book, Maddie’s Beginner Whistle Method are available at OFC Music.

Kala’s Exotic Mahogany ukulele series are available in blue, green, and magenta. These ukes are made from specially selected wood, cut in a unique fashion which produces a number of distinctive grain patterns with variations that include a curly, flamed, streaked, or spotted appearance. The top, back and sides are made of exotic mahogany wood which is highlighted by a satin finish. Features include black binding on the top and back, a rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
