OFC’s 35th Anniversary Concert, Sunday, November 13th

The OFC is proud to announce the 35th Anniversary Concert to be held at the Mayfair Theatre on Sunday November 13th, at 7pm, $20.00 (tickets available here at the OFC). A wide range of local performers, teachers, and alumni will be on hand to help us celebrate. Confirmed so far: Terry Gillespie, Ana Miura, Sheesham and Lotus, Jesse Greene and harp sensation Marc Seguin, Folk legend Doug McArthur, Alicia Borisonik, Don Gibbons, Missy Burgess, the Bytown Ukulele Group (BUG), local clawhammer banjo legends Mary Gick – Paul Hornbeck and Anne Downey, the OFC Choir “Folka Voca”, OFC Jazz Bands, Arthur McGregor and Wendy Moore, Bill Garrett, Piping celebrity Ross Davison, Sarah Ross, fiddle legends Anne Lederman and James Stephens, and special guest appearances. The concert is a celebration of 35 years in business in the community and will simultaneously be a fundraiser for the Hospice at Maycourt (businesses interested in sponsorships please contact Alan at amarsden@ottawafolklore.com for more info on how to participate).
Also that weekend, take part in a cigar box making workshop with Mike Leeworthy on Saturday afternoon – participants will take home a fully assembled cigar box guitar (with pickup!). On Sunday aft, join Sheesham and Lotus for a “stroke style” roots of the clawhammer banjo and jaw harp workshop to get you warmed up before the show. After the big show, head over to Stella Luna for the OFC Senior Jazz band and 40% off gelato!
